It's DrawerGeek Friday! Topic is werewolves. Despite my efforts, I could only think of the most cliche werewolf images. None of them interested me, so I decided to go out to left field on this.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the comments. Jason, when I'm painting digitally, I try to quickly establish my palette with loose brushstrokes on the canvas, just to see if what's in my head actually has potential. If it does, I'll just pick my colours accordingly - sometimes picking the actual colour I want to be there, other times picking a colour that I want to mix with what's already on the canvas. With this particular image, I hadn't decided on the actual fleshtones yet, so I did a monochrome underpainting first. But usually I like to go in direct with colour.
Haaa Great! You may have been coming out of left field when you whipped up this adorable werewolf, but I think it worked out for the best. Excellent job!

Holy Shomoley, this awesome work! Sorry for my ignorance, I'm not a painter, but it reminds me a little of Mark Behm's work. Maybe its similar inspirations but being compared to Mark is one of best compliments I can offer. Keep up this very fine work and ya, I agree with you - Milt Kahl is amazing!

HAHAHAHAHAH Jeremy - I thought somebody might say that. Mark's played a big role in my own learning. He's helped me from the beginning when I was really struggling, and he's one of the painters whose work I look at for inspiration/information. I do hope, however, that my stuff doesn't come off as a cheap ripoff of his; I'm definitely not out to imitate anybody. Although I often feel that, with any given painting of mine, one particular influence is showing through a bit too much. Thanks for your compliment, though - it is a big one.
