More Painting Tests

A few more (relatively) quick sketches. The first one is completely imagined, and I tried painting in an unfamiliar palette to see what I could come up with. It suffers a bit from timid decision-making. The second one was based on a scene I passed this morning on my run. Hopefully I can bring myself to do another character sketch soon!

Hi eddie - thanks for the comment! This is photoshop, actually. The brushes are fairly simple: the plain round brush with a texture applied to it, and sometimes I use this neat Dry Media brush that photoshop has built in. I put a texture on that as well...it helps break up the strokes for a more natural look. Of course, all brushes are being used with a wacom tablet, with pen pressure on.

Love these two. Dream-like but produced perfectly and with much realizism.
